Cast iron eagle sculpture circa 1850-1870 reportedly removed from a Philadelphia foundry. The eagle maybe a product of the Wood & Perot foundry which operated from 1858 until 1866. This foundry also specialized in making animals & furniture. The eagle measures 31" in wingspan & 9" in height. It is mounted on a wooden pedestal. Three screw holes on top with one vacant hole. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: an old sales sheet detailing information about this eagle. CONDITION: metal has a gray patina appearance with age related wear such as old oxidation & gray staining. PROVENANCE: Estate Collection of Nicholas Apergis. (02-24808/MJC). NON-GUN. $400-600.
