MILITARY RIFLE WITH "EAGLE OF SALADIN" CREST. Cal. 8mm Mauser. S# D11360. Bbl. 23 1/8" is marked underneath the forward end with "FN49 7.92/CAI ST. ALB VT," which is the import mark. These rifles were assembled by Century Arms using a new, unused FN-49 receiver. The receiver ring is marked with an eagle referred to as "The Eagle of Saladin." These receivers were purchased and never used until acquired by Century Arms. The receiver ring has Belgian proofs on the left side and is marked on the right side, "FABRIQUE NATIONALE D'ARMES DE GUERRE HERSTAL. BELGIQUE." The receiver cover is serial-numbered in Farsi 1011. Aperture rear sight graduated in Farsi to 1,000 meters. Blade front sight with protective ears. The gas shut-off has Farsi markings. Bayonet lug is present. Fixed 10 rd. boxed mag. A newly made hardwood stock set with a black plastic buttplate. CONDITION: wood and metal in very good to near excellent condition, retaining most of their rework arsenal finishes with only scattered tiny handling marks.
