Cal. 7.63mm. S# 2782. The Chinese held the Mauser C96 in the highest esteem and made many unauthorized copies including this very roughly finished but all matching Flatside Bolo w/ 4" bbl. having a banded fixed front sight & a slip-in rear sight graduated from 50-1000. Short extractor & single lug firing pin. S# on left chamber flat. 2 Chinese characters on bbl. extension translate "Police Station". Frame is unmarked except S# on backstrap & an "Interarms" import stamp just behind trigger guard. Serrated wood grips. Lanyard ring present. Disassembly shows all matching numbers on the marked parts, many of which were hand made. Grip screw, fixed to escutcheons, prevented removal of grips. CONDITION: generally a gray / brown gun w/ virtually all finish having faded. The same consideration applies to the sm. parts. Grips oil soaked & worn, the right panel having a sm. split. Escutcheons move freely within grip when trying to remove screw. Dull bore w/ easily discernable rifling. Perfect manual mechanics. (22-3075/LMA). CURIO. $1,200-1,800.
