19th century, Qing Dynsasty. This finely carved chair with round horizontal crest rail centering an inverted bat holding a rondel with carved peaches on a branch joined to the panel seat. The shaped horizontal arms on round supports, each centered with a carved leafy peach. The seat apron carved in shallow relief with leaf tips and fruit. Raised on square molded legs, joined by a box stretcher. SIZE: 41" h x 27" w x 20" d. Seat is 19 3/4" h. PROVENANCE: From the John Webber Estate of Bangor, Maine. CONDITION: very good with original surface with dark patina. (05-562/TG). $400-600.
