SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 9mm Luger. S# 5CH520. Bbl. 4 5/8". MK.I* High Power semi-automatic pistol mfg. in Canada by Inglis under contract for the Nationalist Chinese military. Left side of the slide is marked "MK.I*" above "BROWNING FN 9MM HP" and "INGLIS CANADA". Right side of frame and slide exhibit Canadian proofs, with the right side of the bbl. exhibiting a faint electro-penciled Canadian proof. Metal components exhibit a parkerized finish overall, save for on the bbl., which is polished in-the-white. Slotted frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered black synthetic grips, and features a lanyard stud and ring on the left side. Thumbprint slide features a dovetailed blade front sight, with a tangent V-notch rear sight, graduated 50-500. All serialized parts are matching in the "stacked" fashion, and include the frame, slide, and bbl. MAGS: 1 blued 13-rd. mag. with parkerized split tail floorplate, marked "JI" on the mag. body (upside down) and on the floorplate. CONDITION: metal components retain large amounts of their arsenal parkerized finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning that show through to gray patina, scattered superficial handling marks, as well as areas of light to mild pitting overall. Bore is bright, exhibiting consistent mild to moderate pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Grips show scattered superficial marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. PROVENANCE: The Estate Collection of Charles Wagner. (25-398/MLW). CURIO. $1,500-2,000.
