Late 19th century, China. 1) Cinnabar colored jar fitted with a lid mounted on a later hardwood stand. 2) Terracotta post in an olive green and brown drip glaze incised with foliate decoration. The center cast with scenes of riders, elders, a dragon and phoenix. SIZE: Jar is 9" h. Baluster is 24 1/2" h. PROVENANCE: From the John Webber Estate of Bangor, Maine. CONDITION: 1) Enamel paint worn on lid, chip on lip of jar. Otherwise good. 2) Top with repaired corner and crack at the median. With in use wear and abrasions. (05-546, 05-552/TG). $150-250.
