Overall length: 37 1/2". Blade length: 32". The tri-color blade has a single wide fuller and features a gold highlighted etched blade on a blued field over the first 17 1/2". The gold etching is separated by 2 etched white panels on each side. Gilded etching includes a large American eagle, liberty cap on pole, sprays of arms & foliate motifs. Gilded brass hilt with spade languets. Plain guard with disk quillon. Knuckle bow has a lobed motif with overlapping oak leaves. Laurel decorated backstrap terminates in a flourished bird’s head pommel. Carved bone grip. Gilded brass scabbard with etched geometric motifs & an American eagle. CONDITION: blade shows areas of original factory polish, but has significant oxidation near the hilt. Hilt has a dark oxidized finish mixed with areas of original gilding. Guard is very slightly misshaped. Grip is repaired near the pommel. Scabbard retains approx. 60% of its original gilded finish. (02-19192/BF). $1,400-1,800.
