UNIFORM GROUP. This group consists of a very interesting white cotton tunic generally conforming to M1895 regulation. This tunic has a white body with white trim & white shoulder tabs. The collar has a gold & red enamel 1920’s Coast Artillery insignia with red enamel, and a “US” on each side of the collar. The buttons on the shoulder tabs are post-1912, and the buttons down the front of the uniform appear to be vegetable ivory or a similar material. A second tunic of similar design is included, but does not have the collar insignia or buttons down the front. Also included in this interesting lot is 3 pairs of white cotton pants matching the tunics. After exhaustive research, we have been unable to find an exact reference to these interesting early 20th century uniforms. They are definitely summer weight, possibly made out of country in the Philippines, Panama or Hawaii. This group is worthy of further research to accurately identify this rare American uniform group. CONDITION: tunics have yellowed slightly, but remain in solid condition. The pants show a bit more wear with some minor staining, but again, are quite solid. (02-19684/BF). $500-800.
