Cal. .44 S# 1782. Standard configuration of the newly introduced Colt 1860 army revolver, 4-screw frame made for shoulder stock, fluted cylinder with patent markings on one flute and S# opposite flute, small "COLT’S / PATENT" left side of frame. One line Hartford address. Many guns in this serial range were shipped South. CONDITION: good to very good overall, appears original and complete. All matching except wedge which is "5296". Metal cleaned, traces bright blue in protected area of barrel lug, overall gray pin pick pitted patina, crisp S#s, discernible address and patents. Grips probably replaced as they appear better than rest of gun, unmarked and never varnished. Triggerguard & backstrap retain some replated silver. Mechanically fine, bright shiny bore.
