This banjo measures 32" in length with a 10 3/4" diameter body. There are no pegs in the peghead. The neck has 2 partially remaining frets. It has a brass tension hoop with brass brackets. Possibly the most interesting part of the banjo is the fact that the brackets are secured to the body of the banjo with brass nuts & American eagle shaped studs that read "UNION FOREVER" at the base of each eagle. The drum head is likely made of sheep skin. CONDITION: this, most assuredly, is a relic banjo and may post date the Civil War by 10-20 years. It shows heavy wear throughout with losses to the finish. The head has a 2" hole in the center. (02-17472/BF). $600-800.
