FOR THE IRISH JASPER GREENS. A very rare, non-excavated example of a Confederate utilized Georgia Militia button worn by the Irish Jasper Greens of Savannah, Georgia. This button was produced before the war & subsequently worn by Confederate forces. Albert # GA-18-A. Face depicts an eagle perched on an Irish harp below the letters, " I J G ". The reverse reads RMDC "SCOVILS & CO : WATERBURY. : ". Full straight shank. CONDITION: this button is very, very rarely found in non-excavated condition.
