WITH S&W MARKINGS. Cal. 32 RF. S# 7434. The Moore's Patent Firearm Company of Brooklyn, NY were mfg. these pistols approx. 1861-1863, until the Smith & Wesson lawsuit forced the companyto stop production. Top of 4" oct. bbl. has partially legible "MANFD FOR SMITH + WESSON BY MOORE'S PATENT FIRE ARMS CO.". Replacement dovetail brass half moon front sight. Ejector rod is stored under the bbl. 7 Shot cyl. has 1855 & 1860 patent dates. Face of cyl. has assembly number "C 84". Brass frame w/ silver finish & New York style scroll engraving. Button on right side of recoil shield allows bbl. to turn to the right for loading & ejecting. One piece walnut stock. CONDITION: fair cleaned bbl. & cyl. having a gray patina appearance w/ wear & peppery oxidation. Fair brass frame w/ traces of silver finish on bottom edges w/ patina. Bbl. lug screw is heavily distorted. Fair worn grip w/ chips & shrinkage to frame. Good bore w/ light pitting. (01-21125/MD). ANTIQUE. $300-500.
