FIFTH TYPE REVOLVER WITH GUTTA PERCHA CASE. Cal. 22 Short. S# 5215 (1857-1860). Oct. 3 3/16" w/ rib & circular front sight. 7 shot rnd. cyl. Silver plated brass square butt frame. 2 Piece rosewood grips w/ right panel has matching number on back. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Gutta Percha case in fair condition showing deteriorating interior felt, large piece missing from exterior of case along w/ warping of gutta percha & large cracks. CONDITION: Bbl. has gray patina appearance w/ blue finish on forward portions, bottom & protected areas showing marks & pitting throughout. Good faded silver finish on w/ numerous small dents evident on butt & grip. Intact grips showing good varnish w/ peeling finish & sm. cracks. Screws show distortion. Cyl. shows traces of blue w/ peeling finish, marks & pitting; will rotate counter clockwise when trigger is pulled & hammer falls. Fair bore w/ pitting. (01-22879/MD). ANTIQUE. $1,200-1,500.
