Charles W Cole joined the 25th Maine Volunteer Infantry, from Sebago and left for Camp Abraham Lincoln, were several letters are written from. Only three months after enlisting, 18 year old Charles would die of typhoid fever at Arlington Heights, Virginia guarding the bridge over the Potomac River.
