Cal. 44. S# 28792. The Colt 1860 army revolver cut for shoulder stock with 4-screw frame was manufactured early 1862. Standard configuration, notched steel backstrap, milled recoil shields, 8" round barrel with rolled address "COL. SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA" with dashes, frame stamped on left "COLTS / PATENT", brass trigger guard. Cylinder has rolled Texas Navy battle scene. Sub-inspection initials observed barrel "S", cylinder "B" and "T", back strap "T", and trigger guard "T". Revolver is accompanied with original unopened paper wrapped pack of 6 Colt cartridges. CONDITION: good overall, all matching & complete except replacement reproduction wedge, grips fit well but no discernible inspection cartouches or S#, metal is overall mottled gray with scattered pitting, slightly loose at frame due to undersized wedge, cylinder scene is about 25% intact, all markings discernible, mechanics function, crisp rifled bore.
