Cal. 12mm Pinfire. S# 28107. Bbl. 5 7/8". This was among the most advanced firearms of its day & the first to use a readily available, reliable, self-contained cartridge. This revolver was adopted by several national militaries around the world, thousands were used during the Civil War both North & South. Based on S#, this is an early war gun marked on top oct. to rnd. bbl. “INVON E. LEFAUCHEUX BRTE PARIS”. Left side of frame has similar marking in lozenge shaped cartouche. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: 1917 dated brown leather holster. CONDITION: good to very good overall. Metal is overall smooth mottled gray w/ significant muzzle wear, missing front sight, missing ejector rod, missing sling swivel in butt. Mechanics need attention. Pitted rifled bore.
