Cal. 52. S# 48454. Bbl. 22". This is an honest complete example of among the most popular early war carbines. This example has heavy saddle wear on left side of buttstock showing lots of views, but taken care of. Standard configuration New Model 1859 Sharps carbine w/ iron patchbox, patent marked frame, “NEW MODEL 1859” stamped rear of Sharps/Lawrence adj. sight on 22” bbl. CONDITION: very good overall, complete & original. Metal is overall mottled gray patina w/ good markings on bbl., lock & frame, Sharp’s Rifle / MANUF’G CO / HARTFORD, CONN” discernible but weak. Stocks are well fit w/ hand worn patina, scattered small cosmetic blemishes. Mechanically fine w/ crisp rifled bore. (01-19918/JS). ANTIQUE. $2,000-2,500.
