OFFICERS BUTTON. A fine example of a Confederate button utilized by the General Staff. This button was mfg. in England during the war & imported to the Confederate States likely by blockade runners. Albert # CS-1-A-5. Face depicts a folded wing eagle w/ a shield on its chest featuring the letters, "CSA" at the top. The eagle is surrounded by 11 stars representing the states of the Confederacy. The reverse reads, "(crest) RIVET'D & SOLDER'D". Full straight shank. CONDITION: button retains nearly all of its original finish w/ very minimal wear.
