BUTTON. A fine example of a locally produced Mississippi Infantry button utilized by state troops serving in the Confederate forces. Albert # MP-8-A. Face depicts a central beveled star with an "I" in the center all surrounded by the word, "MISSISSIPPI . " all on a plain field. The reverse has a blank depressed channel. Full straight shank. CONDITION: button has a beautiful brass patina mixed with areas of original gilding. (02-17702/BF). $900-1,200.
