TIN TYPE. This lot includes a relic Civil War 58 Cal. musket. No markings are visible on the musket because of rust, and the hammer is missing. The ramrod is frozen in a partially deployed position. The wood is dry & slightly rotted in places. This musket comes complete w/ an appropriate bayonet. It is quite likely they were found together on or near a battlefield many years after the war. This lot further includes a small Cloverleaf Corps Badge w/ a keystone in the center featuring the number “53”. There is a silver suspension bar that reads “PA. VOLS.”. It is likely this is a Reunion Corps Badge from the post-war period. A small, raw tin type w/ a chest-up view of an enlisted Yankee wearing a greatcoat. Image measures 2” x 1 11/16”. A belt knife measuring 14 1/2” overall w/ an 8 3/4" blade. The blade is marked near the spine “V (crown) R + JOSEPH ROGERS & SONS * CUTLER TO HER MAJESTY”. 2-Piece horn grip attached w/ 4 pins on each side. The original lock fit sheath is brown leather w/ German silver throat & tip. Belt loop is present but detached. CONDITION: as stated, musket is in relic condition. Corps Badge & tin type show light wear. Knife has been sharpened many times but presents well in the sheath. (02-21250-1/BF). $400-550.
