BOLT ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 250 Sav. S# 6343. Bbl. 19" tapered rnd. Band mounted ramp bead front sight. Fascinating retracting peep rear sight is mounted on the rear ring and is raised by pushing a checkered button on the right side. Scope rings are grooved for mounts. Weaver K2.5-1 blued scope with duplex reticle on QD mounts. Left side of receiver has "BAUSKA ARMS CORP., KALISPELL MT" importer marking. Model 98 Mauser style short action with fire blued extractor, finely jeweled bolt body, and Model 70, 3-position safety. Grooved single stage trigger. Extended magnum style mag., floorplate straddles the trigger guard bow which houses the floorplate release button. Finely blued metal finish. Mannlicher style full length straight comb stock of fancy Claro walnut with extensive fiddle grain having striking light and dark tones. Stock features a shadow line cheek piece and a schnabel style flare in the forearm ahead of the flush mounted sling swivel base. Stock and forearm have 2-screw flush mounted bases for Pachmayr style removable swivels. Additional stock features include fine wrap around hand checkering, a sculpted steel grip cap, and a curved steel buttplate with widows peak. Buttplate is marked with "NELSON" within a banner over Clayton's trademark knight emblem. Weight with scope: 8lbs. 2.2oz. CONDITION: near excellent retaining nearly all metal finish. Very good stock finish shows a few small marks. Stock has a vertical repair behind cheekpiece. Very good bright bore. Scope has clear optics. (25-2434/DS). MODERN. $2,000-3,000.
