PISTOL. Cal. 9mm Luger. S# SAP94876. Bbl. 5.75". The RPB Industries M10, often mistakenly referred to as the Mac 10 (evidently, it sounds cooler to the Hollywood crowd), was originally offered in semi-auto as an open bolt system, just like its predecessor, the M10 SMG. The BATF determined that the open bolt semi-autos met the criteria of a machine gun under the "readily restorable" clause and banned future manufacture, grandfathering those that were assembled on or before June 21, 1982, under ATF ruling 82-8. Like everything else, the Federal Government tells citizens they cannot have it, and interest in the early originals immediately skyrocketed; they have been considered highly prized collectibles for over 40 years now. Barrel threaded with traditional 3/4x10 threads. Factory-protected post front and fixed rear peep sights. Rotating cocking knob locks the action closed as an additional safety mechanism. Primary safety is located on the right front side of the trigger. MAGS: 1 steel, 32 rd. CONDITION: Exterior finish thinning, as common with these pistols, having seen some range use over the last 4 decades. Bright bore with good rifling. Fire control mechanism appears to function correctly when cycled by hand. PROVENANCE: from the lifelong collection of Terrance McCarty. (24-497/JZ). MODERN. $500-800.
