Cals. 31 both. (1) Model 1849 Pocket: S# 188069. Bbl. 5" octagon w/ New York address & cone type front sight. Round five shot cyl. w/ stagecoach scene roll engraving. Blue & cse colored finish w/ silver finished brass backstrap & large round trigger guard. 1 piece walnut grip. Bbl., frame, grip straps, cyl., loading lever & wedge have matching numbers. Mfg. 1861 during the American Civil War. (2) 1855 "Root" Model 5A Side Hammer Pocket Revolver: S# 2586. Bbl. 4 1/2" round w/ New York address & cone type brass sight. Fluted five shot cyl. Blue finish. 1 piece walnut grip. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: added 2 gun case of fancy wood w/ brass trim. Fitted cloth interior has faded worn appearance. Case contains pocket size American eagle flask, 2 cavity bullet mold, oil bottle, Eley cap tin, round balls & bullets. Also included is a wrapped 6 round package w/ combustible envelope packages, cal. 31-100. CONDITION: (1) fine. Bbl. retains 70% blue showing spotted flaking. Cyl. has faded to gray & retains very good visible scene. Frame, hammer & loading lever have over 70% lightly faded case colors. Grip straps show 75% silver finish having a slightly darkened tarnish. Grips have good finish showing small marks & wear spots. Hammer has worn notches. Bore has area at midpoint w/ deep pitting. (2) metal has a gray brown coloration indicating touch up finish. Grips show wear & handling marks w/ chips around butt. Good mechanics. Lightly pitted bore retains sound rifling. (01-22875/DS). ANTIQUE. $3,500-5,000.
