Cal. 36. S# 148270. Bbl. 7 1/2" octagon. Brass cone style front sight. Six shot round cyl. w/ naval engagement scene roll engraving. Brass backstrap & large round trigger guard. Left side of trigger guard is stamped "2". Bbl., frame, wedge & grip straps have matching S#. Cyl. has partially visible S# beginning w/ "8250". 1 piece walnut grip. Mfg. 1863 during the American Civil War. CONDITION: frame retains 90% dull reblued finish showing remaining handling marks & thinned markings. Bbl. & loading lever retains 60% dull refinished blue. Cyl. has faded to gray showing spots of corrosion. Wedge & screws are polished bright. Brass grip straps are polished clean showing faint traces of silver finish. Refinished grips are slightly undersize & show handling marks. Bore retains sound rifling showing some light pitting. Action is in time, cyl. shows some side play. (01-26160/DS). ANTIQUE. $600-900.
