Cal. 38 CF. S# 59130. Bbl. 7 1/2" octagon w/ New York address. Brass cone style front sight. Ejector housing is fitted to right side of bbl. Six shot round cyl. w/ naval scene roll engraving. Iron grip straps. Full blue finish. Butt of gun is stamped "U. S. N." over inspector's initials "J.L.H.". Left side of frame has 1871 & 1872 patent dates. 1 piece walnut grip. Total of about 3,800 converted in the mid 1870s. CONDITION: 60% dull blue fading to brown showing spots of corrosion. Cyl. has weakly visible scene. Grips are age darkened w/ heavy wear, dents & handling marks. Hammer will not hold in full cock position. Bore is generally bright retaining strong rifling. (01-25162/DS). ANTIQUE. $2,250-3,000.
