Cal. 44. S# 174787. Bbl. 8" round w/ German silver sight. Six shot round rebated cyl. w/ naval scene roll engraving. Original finish was blue & case colored w/ silver finished brass trigger guard. 1 piece walnut grip. Frame, grip straps, wedge, cyl. & bbl. have matching numbers. Mfg. 1868. CONDITION: metal has faded gray appearance showing scattered light pitting. Cyl. retains 30% lightly visible scene. Trigger guard has cleaned appearance w/ no remaining silver. Grips show heavy wear w/ chips at toe. Right panel has a blued full length repair. Wedge has a brazed repair. Loading lever has a welded repair. Wedge screw is replacement. Hammer does not hold properly at full cock position. Bbl. is loose on frame. Lightly pitted bore w/ intact rifling. PROVENANCE: ex-collection of Paul Eseppi. (01-25940/DS). ANTIQUE. $1,200-1,400.
