REVOLVER. Cal. 44 Colt CF. S# 124124. Bbl. 8" round w/ New York address & German silver blade sight having ejector housing on right side. Left side is marked "US". Round rebated cyl. w/ naval scene roll engraving. Blue finished bbl., backstrap & cyl. w/ case colored hammer & frame. Brass trigger guard. Frame, trigger guard & backstrap are no. "124124". Bbl. is no. "7303". Conversion no. "303" is added to frame, grip straps, bbl., loading lever plug, cyl. & conversion ring. Left side of bbl. & trigger guard below serial number are marked "A" inspector's initial. Grip strap behind trigger guard bow & near top of backstrap are marked w/ "H" inspector's initial. 1 piece walnut grip. Total of about 9,000 converted 1871-78. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: tooled leather cartridge box. Insides have wood blocks to hold 14 paper cartridges. Leather has dark appearance w/ some cracking. CONDITION: very good. Bb. retains 70% dull blue showing handling marks & spots of flaking. Cyl. & backstrap retain 50% blue w/ areas of fading on cyl. w/ spots of corrosion on backstrap. Frame shows 90% lightly faded case colors. Grip strap shows a very mild tarnish. Grips show heavy wear w/ dents & marks having small chips at toe & trigger guard.
