Cal. 44. S# 110552. Bbl. 8" rnd. w/ German silver blade sight & 1 line New York address. Rnd. rebated 6 shot cyl. w/ naval scene roll engraving. Blue finish w/ case colored frame, loading lever & hammer having Silver finish brass trigger guard. Action has provisions for shoulder stock attachment. Bbl., frame, trigger guard & cyl. have matching numbers. Wedge & backstrap are unmarked. Trigger guard below S# marked "US". Inspector's mark "B" is found on right side of bbl. One piece walnut grips. Left panel has "JLD" cartouche. Right panel has "JT" cartouche. 1863 Mfg. during the U.S. Civil War. CONDITION: bbl., frame & backstrap finish has faded to gray. 90% lightly visible cyl. scene. Frame & hammer are fading to gray w/ dark, lightly visible case colors in protected areas. Loading lever retains 90% lightly faded case colors & may be replacement. Grips have lightly worn finish showing scattered handling marks. Sound action. Bbl. retains strong rifling showing scattered spots of very light pitting. (01-20677/DS). ANTIQUE. $1,500-2,200.
