Cal.44. S#. 118582. Bbl. 8" round with German silver blade sight. Round, rebated 6 shot cyl. has naval engagement scene roll engraving. 3 screw action with provisions for shoulder stock attachment. Blue & case colored finish with brass trigger guard. Consignor supplied info. states "Benicia Arsenal rebuild" with possible Buffalo Soldier use. Benicia CA. Arsenal was the primary U.S. Army Ordnance west coast arsenal, 1851-1964. Frame & bbl. are S# 118532, trigger guard is S# 14228, backstrap is S# 95980, cyl is S# 9931, & wedge is S# 4390. Trigger guard is marked "US" below S#. Cyl has inspector initials "D" with "E" on the bbl. Walnut 1 piece grip. CONDITION: Fine as rebuilt. Bbl. has over 50% blue. Cyl has fading blue over good scene. Frame retains over 60% case colors. Refinished grips show dents & marks. Smooth action. bbl. has spots of deep pitting with largely intact rifling.
