Cal. 44. S#. 13339. Bbl. 8" round with New York address & German silver blade sight. Round rebated 6 shot cyl. has naval engagement scene roll engraving. 4 screw action has provision for shoulder stock attachment. Blue & case colored finish with silver finished brass trigger guard. 1 piece walnut grip with partially legible cartouche on left panel. Inspector initials "T" are found on the bbl. & trigger guard. Bbl., frame grip straps, cyl. & wedge have matching numbers. 1861 mfg. CONDITON: Bbl retains 25% dull blue fading to gray with scattered pitting. Cyl. has lightly visible scene. Frame shows 20% fading case color on sides. Brass trigger guard is cleaned bright with only traces of silver. Grips show moderate wear with small handling marks. Action has strong spring tension. Bore retains sound rifling shows spots of pitting near the muzzle. PROVENANCE: From the Lifelong Collection of Glen E. Mattox. (01-22379/DS). ANTIQUE. $2000-3000.
