Cal. 44. S# 143680. Bbl. 8" round w/ New York address & blade sight. Round rebated six shot cyl. w/ naval engagement scene roll engraving. Action has provisions for shoulder stock attachment. Added custom full nickel finish. Bbl., frame, cyl., grip straps & wedge have matching numbers. Left side of bbl. has "D" inspection mark. 1 piece walnut grip has partially visible cartouches on both panels. Mfg. 1863 during the American Civil War. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: period style trade casing w/ round brass medallion in lid. Interior of lid has directions for loading & cleaning. Blue cloth fitted interior showing moderate wear. Case contains nickel finished American eagle army size flask, 2 cavity iron mold, Eley cap tin, case key, round balls & bullets. CONDITION: metal retains 70% renickeled finish showing areas of peeling w/ small dents & marks. Sanded & refinished grips show light wear & marks. Cyl. scene is weakened w/ renickeled finish. Functioning action has weak spring tension. Dark lightly pitted bore retains intact rifling. (01-22828/DS). ANTIQUE. $2,500-3,500.
