Cal. 38 RF. S# 18135. Bbl. 4 1/2" octagon w/ New York address & brass cone style sight. Five shot round rebated cyl. w/ stagecoach scene roll engraving. Blue & case colored finish w/ silver finished backstrap & brass trigger guard. 1 piece walnut grip. Bbl., frame & grip straps have matching numbers. Cyl. is renumbered to match. Wedge has non-matching number "8167". Estimated quantity of 2,000 mfg. 1873-75 are all believed to be converted from percussion revolvers. CONDITION: bbl. & cyl. retain 70% lightly faded blue. Cyl. retains very good scene. Frame has 70% nicely visible case colors. Grip straps show a small amount of silver finish in protected areas having acquired a dark tarnish. Original grip finish shows wear spots. Sound mechanics. Bore is generally bright retaining strong rifling showing small spots of corrosion. (01-25161/DS). ANTIQUE. $1,500-2,000.
