Renickeled finish w/ blued hammer & trigger. 2 Piece checkered hard rubber grips. 1906 Mfg. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: letter from Joe Hunt Sheriff, Tom Green County, San Angelo, TX. Letter gives history of the Colt Lightning & states the following information" To Whom It May Concern: / Subject: Colt pistol, Model 1877 DA Lightning / Caliber 38 / Serial number 161352 / This Colt pistol was property of the Tom Green County Sheriff's Department, which was established in 1875". Joe Hunt was a legendary Texas Ranger & after retirement, the Tom Green County Sheriff. Includes copy of the "Texas Ranger Hall of Fame E Book" that contains Joe Hunt's obituary, "Texas Iron, Guns of the Texas Rangers" by Robert D. Moser, & "Texas Ranger, Campfire Tales" by Joe B. Hunt. CONDITION: 98% renickeled finish, some markings are weak. Grips have worn checkering showing handling marks. Action will not function in SA mode. Pitted bore retaining largely intact rifling.
