ACTION REVOLVER WITH FACTORY LETTER. Cal. 41 LC. S# 28301. Bbl. 2 1/2". 1877 Thunderer Storekeepers Model double action revolver mfg. by Colt in 1881. Top of bbl. is marked with Colt's 2-line address having patent information marked on the left side of the frame. Frame is mounted w/ a 1-piece checkered wood grip. German silver blade front sight having frame notched rear sight. Matching numbers are present on the frame, trigger guard, and butt. Cyl. appears to match w/portions of the S# being partially illegible. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: factory letter indicates that this revolver was shipped w/ a 2 1/2" bbl., blue finish, "Not Listed" stocks plus was sent in a shipment of 2 revolvers to H & D Folsom Arm Company in New York, NY on March 31st, 1881. CONDITION: metal components exhibit a mottled gray patina, plus areas of pitting present overall. Poor pitted bore, exhibits strong rifling throughout. Grip shows smoothing plus scattered marks from handling & storage, but otherwise remains sturdy & serviceable. (01-25277/MLW). ANTIQUE. $500-800.
