COMPONENTS. Cal. 45 Colt. S# 43438. Bbl. 6" blade sight. Six shot long flute cyl. Blue finish. Even before production of Model 1902 Philippine Constabulary revolvers had been stopped, overrun military inspected parts were used for assembly of civilian revolvers. Left side of frame above grips is marked “R.A.C.”. referring to U.S. sub inspector Rinaldo A. Carr. Right side of frame stamped “U.S.”. Rear face of cyl. has inspection mark “R”. Loading gate marked w/ 4 digit military assembly number. 2 Piece checkered hard rubber rampant Colt grips w/ lanyard loop at butt. Colt Serial Number Lookup lists year of mfg. for the frame as 1900. CONDITION: over 60% arsenal refinished metal showing areas of fading & small spots of pitting. Grips show moderate wear. Sound action. Bore has lightly worn rifling showing scattered spots of pitting. (23-844/DS). CURIO. $1,500-2,250.
