Cal. 476 Eley. S# 30195. Bbl. 5 1/2” w/ Hartford address. Standard model w/ ejector. Full blue finish, hammer has polished sides. 2 Piece checkered hard rubber rampant colt round butt grips w/ lanyard loop at butt. Total of 51,210 mfg. 1878-1905. S# 41,000 & below were produced prior to December 31, 1898. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: wood casing w/ circular brass medallion in lid. Inside lid has paper label marked w/ “14, Pall Mall, S.W. London” address. Case has red cloth fitted interior w/ wood cartridge block. Case contains rosewood cleaning rod, rosewood turnscrew & case key. CONDITION: bbl. retains 20% dull fading blue bordering a large area of gray w/ very light pitting. Frame & cyl. retain 70% lightly faded blue showing scattered spots of light pitting. Grips show moderate wear. Sound mechanics. Dark bore has worn rifling. PROVENANCE: From the Lifelong Collection of Glen E. Mattox. (01-22431/DS). ANTIQUE. $3,000-4,000.
