Cal. 38 Rimless (38 ACP). S# 425. This desirable pistol was Colt's first production semi automatic handgun. Bbl. 6". Long slide w/ rear serrations having rear sight safety & semi circular front sight. Left side is marked "BROWNING'S PATENT / PAT'D APRIL 28,1897" followed by Colt markings w/ Hartford address. Spur style hammer. 2 Piece smooth walnut grips. Approx. 3,500 mfg. 1900-1903. MAGS: 1 detachable 7 rd. mag. retaining 15% original nickel finish w/ sm. dents in left side. CONDITION: frame retains over 50% dull blue fading to gray. Slide retains sm. amounts of fading blue blending into a light patina showing spots of corrosion & handling marks. Grips have a lightly darkened worn appearance w/ numerous scratches & marks. Bore has a lightly frosted appearance w/ lightly worn rifling showing some very light pitting. (21-3381/DS).
