Cal. 44 . S# 10285. Bbl. 7.5". Standard configuration 7.5" round barrel & octagonal lug, 1-line Colt New York address, German silver blade front sight, left side of frame stamped "COLT’S / PATENT / U.S.", square back silver plated brass trigger guard & back strap, one piece walnut grips. This is an honest survivor that saw hard use. Less than 3000 2nd models made 1850-1851. CONDITION: good overall, all matching and complete, discernible markings, sight shortened, smooth iron patina on barrel & cylinder, mottled silver/gray frame, hammer, & loading assembly. Grips not numbered, leather shim, appears original to time of use, heavy wear, good fit to frame. Most of plating on grip fame intact. Mechanics functioning, good crisp rifled bore.
