FRENCH WWI UNIFORM WITH ACCOUTREMENTS. Cal. 38 Special. S#. 391429. Bbl. 4 1/2" with semi circular front sight. 6 shot fluted cyl. Blue finish with polished hammer sides. 2 piece walnut grips with lanyard loop at the butt. The revolver is accompanied by a WWI French Infantry uniform of the post 1915 style with blue collar tabs for the 47th regiment. The uniform is equipped with an infantry belt having a two prong buckle, 2 cartridge pouches, a canteen, and a tin cup. UNATTACHED ACCESORIES: Colt Archive Properties letter stating: "Serial number: 391429 / Caliber: .38/c / Barrel Length: 4 1/2" / Finish: Blue / Type of stocks: Wood / Special Features: Furnished with a lanyard swivel / Shipped To: Government of France / Date of Shipment: January 28, 1915 / Number of Same Type Guns in Shipment: 500". Also includes an unmarked leather flap holster. Front seam is unstitched. CONDITION: revolver retains over 60% original blue showing carry wear with scratches & spots of pitting. Grips show moderate wear. The action shows wear with the cylinder exhibiting excessive free play. Crane pin retaining screw is an improper replacement. Bright bore retains sound rifling.
