PEARL GRIPS. Cal. 38. S# 425984. Bbl 6". Army Special double action revolver manufactured by Colt in 1917. The left side of the barrel is stamped "COLT" followed by "ARMY/ SPECIAL" and "38", with Colt's 2 line address across the top. Left side of frame exhibits the Rampant Colt logo and "VP" proof. Metal components exhibit a dull reapplied blue finish. Frame is mounted with 2 piece smooth pearl grips. Front sight has been ground down with a thinner profile and brass rear face. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: black leather holster marked "3/ 45/ 38" on the rear of the belt loop. CONDITION: metal components exhibit wear and thinning overall that shows through to brown and gray patinas. Bright bore, exhibiting spots of light pitting and retaining dull rifling throughout. Pearl grips exhibit a yellow patina, exhibiting scattered marks from handling and storage, as well as losses overall. Holster shows scattered marks from handling and storage . (23-4678/MLW).
