Cal. 41 Colt. S# 422330. Bbl. 6". Army Special double action revolver mfg. by Colt in 1916. The left side of the bbl. is marked "COLT" followed by "ARMY/ SPECIAL" and "41", with Colt's mfg. and patent information marked across the top. Left side of frame is marked with the Rampant Colt logo and "VP" proof. Metal components exhibit a blued finish, with the frame being mounted with 2-piece "COLT" checkered black hard rubber grips. Half-moon blade front sight with frame notched rear sight. CONDITION: metal components retain traces of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting wear and thinning that shows through to gray and brown patinas, with scattered spots of pitting overall. Mirror bore, exhibiting scattered spots of oxidation and pitting, and retaining well defined rifling throughout. Grips show smoothing and some scattered marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. (23-6943/MLW). CURIO. $600-900.
