Cal. 38 Spl. S# 496758. Bbl. 5". Army Special double-action revolver mfg. by Colt in 1923. Left side of the bbl. is marked "COLT," followed by the model and cal. designations, with Colt's 2-line address marked across the top. Left side of the frame is marked with the Rampant Colt logo. Metal components exhibit a reapplied blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with a textured black rubber 1-piece Hogue Mono Grip. Half-moon blade front sight with frame notched rear sight. CONDITION: metal components retain bountiful amounts of their reapplied blue finish, exhibiting some superficial handling marks, as well as some spots of pitting beneath the bluing. Bore is bright, as refinished, exhibiting consistent mild pitting while retaining strong rifling throughout. Grip is excellent overall. PROVENANCE: from the lifelong collection of Bill Peterken.
