Cal. 38 WCF. S# 229153. Bbl 7 1/2". Bisley Model manufactured by Colt in 1902. The left side of the barrel is stamped "(BISLEY MODEL) 38 W.C.F.", with Colt's single line address across the top. Left side of the frame is stamped with patent information, followed by the encircled Rampant Colt logo. Frame is mounted with 2 piece Colt checkered hard rubber grips. Standard blade front sight with frame notched rear sight. Matching numbers are present on the frame, trigger guard, and rear grip strap. CONDITION: metal components retain traces of their original factory blue finish, with the balance exhibiting a mottled gray patina, with some scattered areas of pitting overall. Bright bore, exhibiting moderate pitting and strong rifling throughout. Grips show smoothing and some scattered marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. Left grip panel exhibits a small patch that appears to have been in contact with a chemical of some sort, but does not effect serviceability. (23-1415/MLW). CURIO. $1,200-1,800.
