Cal. 44. S# 50287/2. Bbl. 8". Bbl. has "Colt New York, U.S.A." address on top. 3 Screw frame marked “COLTS PATENT” on left side has iron back strap w/ cut for stock lug & brass trigger guard plus front strap. Bbl. frame & both straps are marked w/ S# & additional “2” (significance unknown). Cyl. has very lightly stamped number “0237” & appears to be original w/ correctly sized numbers of the right font. Blacksmith made replacement wedge has newly stamped last 4 digits. 1 Piece walnut grips are unmarked. CONDITION: good. Bbl. retaining approx. 40% of what appears to be original blue. Action w/ traces of color where protected. No scene visible on cyl. Grip retains most of what appears to be original varnish. Good bore w/ scattered pitting. Mechanically good, action screws show considerable use & probable replacement. PROVENANCE: The Estate Collection of Gary Parietti. (01-19068/MGM). ANTIQUE. $1,000-2,000.
