Cal. 45 ACP. S# 70G53654. Extremely modified w/ many custom features. All frame components mixture of satin & bright electroless nickel. Slide assembly is polished blue including rounded top portion. Portions of rear of slide & blade of sight horizontally grooved to reduce glare. Bo-Mar sight superbly melted into slide along w/ ball end mill cuts on either side of slide aligned w/ cocking grooves. Top of slide flattened & grooved (slightly wider) in Gold Cup style. Patridge front sight w/ reduced width behind face. Lg. single port muzzle brake w/ sight & continuation of slide grooves. Plain face as guide rod blind fitted w/ tapered bushing at front of slide. Bushingless BAR STO bbl. fitted to slide. Ejection port lowered, beveled & flared. Extensive frame modifications; most noticeable is pivoting trigger assembly w/ locating pin at base of trigger guard plus attachment set screw through left finger recess. Additional attachment w/ Allen head screw at bottom rear of trigger guard. Commander style hammer w/ narrowed sides & nicely checkered cocking area. Especially light superb trigger pull resulting from unique trigger assembly. Original appearing mag. release w/ fine drilled & tapped hole for addition of extension or lg. head. Armand Swenson ambidextrous safety. Basically original appearing slide stop, yet appears fitted w/ replacement pin having rounded head similar to many European pistols. Front strap & flat mainspring housing checkered 20 LPI. Polished beavertail grip safety arc fitted & pinned in place. Bright polished, frame attached mag. well w/ front extension. Fully checkered plain walnut grips w/ polished screws. Many of features are characteristic of John Giles; pistolsmith, not known for sure. MAGS: 2 Wilson Combat 8 rd.. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: aftermarket walnut case w/ red velvet interior having shadow line cutout for pistol. Key chain accessory w/ cylindrical tool used to disassemble guide rod. CONDITION: very light marks on slide near muzzle & behind cocking grooves. Opening of mag. well went through mainspring housing to show slight portion of housing pin. PROVENANCE: Dr. William E.
