MODEL SAA REVOLVER WITH RIG. Cal. 45 Colt. S# 116185. Bbl. arsenal shortened to 5 1/2" with blade sight. Case colored black powder frame is stamped "U.S." on the left side. Bullseye ejector head. 6-shot fluted cyl with S# "8799" has "R.A.C." (Rinaldo A. Carr) inspector marking. Blue finished trigger guard and back strap. Trigger guard is S# "4261". Back strap is S# "132466". Bbl. has remaining S# "693". 1-piece walnut grips are decorated with geometric borders around thinned hand textured interior sections. Textured surfaces extend to the butt. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Colt factory letter stating "Serial Number: 116185/ Caliber: .45/c/ Barrel Length: Not Listed/ Finish: Blue/ Type of Stocks: Not Listed/ Sold to: United States Government/ Delivered To: U.S. Government Inspector/ at Colt plant/ Date of Shipment: November 18, 1885/ Number of Same Type/ Guns in Shipment: 150". Unmarked leather holster and belt with cartridge loops. CONDITION: receiver retains 30% lightly visible case colors showing spotted corrosion most noticeable on back strap. Patent dates and U.S. markings on left side of receiver are weak. Bbl. and ejector housing retain over 50% blue with spots fading to gray showing scratches, small dents, and spotted corrosion. Back strap and trigger guard retain 30% lightly worn blue with fading in carry areas. Grips have good finish as altered. Sound action. Bore shows scattered spots of moderate pitting while retaining intact rifling. Holster is in good condition showing light wear and handling marks. Cartridge belt shows heavy wear with age related cracking. (01-27060/DS). ANTIQUE. $4,500-6,500.
