Cal. 22 LR. S# 9302GS. Bbl. 4 3/4" Mfg. 1969 in celebration of Transcontinental Railroad completion at Promontory Point, Utah; 11,000 units. Blued with gold plated fluted cylinder, loading gate, ejector housing (blued screw), ejector rod head, screws and base pin. Rough textured walnut grips with gold Colt medallions plus scroll engraving on butt. Gold fill in all barrel lettering. More produced than for any other Colt commemorative model along with a similar commemorative by Winchester (Model 94 Carbine), yet highly sought after due to its fine appearance and universal historic appeal. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Colt supplied moulded presentation case resembling Gutta Percha having 2 facing steam engines plus 2 top-hatted dignitaries on top of lid plus a reproduction (under lid) of the famous meeting photograph as the golden spike is driven. Bottom of case is outlined in vivid dark green velvet for revolver and commemorative gold plated railroad spike. Case lid hinges hand separate to allow a more varied display. Occasional very light marks on case lid. CONDITION: all aspects near excellent appearing new and unfired. (24-4811/NW). CURIO. $500-750.
