REVOLVER. Cal. 31. S# 310285. Bbl. 4". Model 1849 Pocket single-action percussion revolver mfg. by Colt in 1869. Top of the bbl. is marked with Colt's single line address. Left side of the frame is marked "COLTS/PATENT," with "31 CAL" marked on the left side of the trigger guard. Frame is mounted with a one-piece, smooth wood grip, which has been sanded and oiled. Metal components have been cleaned and polished at one time. Matching numbers are present on the frame, bbl., cyl., and trigger guard, as well as the backstrap. CONDITION: metal components retain a gray patina, with scattered spots of pitting and age-related discoloration present overall. Brass trigger guard and rear grip strap are very good overall. Dark, pitted bore, retaining strong rifling throughout. Grip shows some striations, as well as some scattered marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable.
