REVOLVER. Cal. 44. S# 47084. Bbl 8". Model 1860 Army revolver manufactured by Colt in 1862. The top of the barrel bears Colt's single line address, with the left side of the frame being stamped "COLTS/ PATENT". Iron backstrap with provision for a detachable shoulder stock. Brass trigger guard with 1 piece smooth wood grip. Matching numbers are present on the frame, trigger guard, and rear grip strap. Barrel does not match and retains a modified wedge and period replaced screw. German silver front sight. CONDITION: iron components exhibit a dark gray patina overall, with scattered areas of mild to moderate pitting. Brass components have been cleaned at one time and exhibit scattered handling marks. Dark bore, exhibiting pitting and strong rifling throughout. Grip shows wear and scattered marks from handling and storage. (01-24118/MLW). ANTIQUE. $600-900.
