Cal. 44 CF. S# 199428. Bbl. shortened to 5 9/16" w/ added lump front sight w/ conversion ejector. Loading lever slot is filled. Six shot rnd. rebated cyl. w/ naval scene roll engraving. Left side of frame is marked "COLTS / PATENT". Conversion ring & loading gate are unnumbered. Bbl., frame, grip straps, spindle & lever have matching numbers. Wedge is unnumbered. Full nickel finish. One piece ivory grips. Est. total of 9,000 produced are converted 1871-1878. CONDITION: 20% remaining nickel finish w/ balance fading to gray. Cyl. retains 40% scene. Muzzle is filed rnd. as associated w/ use by frontier gun fighters & lawmen to keep it from catching leather. Grips are undersize & worn round at butt showing checks & having acquired a yellow color.
